Elementary Age Classes Enrollment Form

AFTERNOON ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Daytime Playtime Enrichment Center is now more than just a pre-school!!! We are now offering classes for elementary students ages 5-12 who want to come on over and join us in the afternoons for a new kind of learning. These classes will be on-going through out the school year and during the summer so sign up today and we will set the dates to begin.

ART CLASS FOR KIDS
Monday 4:30pm – 6:00pm

This class will range from drawing, painting, sculpture, and design, to architecture, film, video, and folk arts using a wide variety of tools, techniques, and processes. By using a wide range of subject matter, symbols, meaningful images, and visual expressions students will learn the characteristics of the visual arts, to reflect their ideas, feelings, and emotions, and to evaluate the merits of their efforts. The art instruction of this class will follow the National Standards for Art Education for the elementary level. These standards provide the framework in a way that promotes the students' thinking, working, communicating, reasoning, and investigating skills and provides for their growing familiarity with the ideas, concepts, issues, dilemmas, and knowledge important in the visual arts. As students gain this knowledge and these skills, they gain in their ability to apply the knowledge and skills in the visual arts to their widening personal worlds.

YOGA FOR KIDS
Thursdays 5:00pm – 5:45pm

6 - 10 year old Program: Fun is still an important part of this program, but understanding how and why our bodies need exercise is the central theme. Here, we will both explain and demonstrate why warming up before and cooling down after sporting events is necessary.
